Thanks for the help, any additional input you have would be greatly appreciated. How important are envelopes and automation among the synths?Дo you mostly write songs in a minor key? What musical intervals do you use among the synths at the drop? How do you decide what you want to do at the drop? My questions specifically are to any electro house producers who know what they are talking about:

I can understand any anti circle jerk downvotes- this sub seems to hate anyone who shows the slightest inkling of 'OMG EDM CAN U TEECH ME HOW TO MAKE A SIK ELECTRO HOUSE PLOP' but I don't really know where else to turn. I am pretty good at making songs out of loops and automating synths but it seems that complextro breaks free from the loop structure. It's hard to describe but basically I can't understand how a really hard hitting drop flows and how the producer knows exactly what sounds to put where. For some reason I can't wrap my mind around 'complextro' drop structures. I have attempted multiple times and spent many hours working specifically on the drop. It was the genre that got me into electronic music and its really the genre I most want to produce. I liked that but I really want to get I to hard hitting electro house.

For a while now I have been making groovy, dynamic, slightly eccentric house music. I am pleased with some of my work, but I really want to take my style into a different direction.

I have been 'producing' for about a year and a half now.
